またあいだが空いてしまった。

この間に見に来てくれた人、めんぼくない。

なんだかんだで忙しくて、気がつけば６月も後半戦。

つまりは今年もそろそろ後半戦。はやいなー。

いま、４つのフリーランスの仕事をとっていて、とてもせわしくしてるけど、基本的には快適に生活してます。

そうそう、さいきん、ついに念願のキングサイズのベッドを買いました。

かなりスペースはとるけど、ついでに模様替えなどをしたので意外に狭く感じない。

ごろごろベッドの上で転がれるし、快適。

絵は父の日にあげた父親の太鼓叩き姿。

メキシコハウス

昔、メキシコ出身の友達の小さなメキシコハウスに招待されて、本場のメキシコ料理を食べて以来、メキシコ料理が好きだ。

簡単な肉と野菜とゆで卵の煮物のようなものだったのだけど、いったいあれはなんて言う料理だったんだろう。トルティヤを片手にかじりながら食べた。生活感漂う日常的な、でもどこかディープな料理。

うまかったなぁ。

Sputnik Sweetheart

This is the piece I created for the ROOM TO READ fundraising event, which happened last night.

It was a pretty interesting event.

Since the admission was $150, the crowds seemed a little different from the ones I've known.

I felt that Ziggy Marleyt played a little too shortly, but over all I enjoyed it.

About 2 weeks ago, I was asked to create an art piece based on my favorite book just for this event. So, I picked "The Sputnik Sweetheart" by Haruki Murakami. I am a big fan of Murakami's work, and this is one of my favorites though I don't think this is one of his most popular novels.

The biggest inspiration was his beautiful depiction of the loneliness of a person, which is symbolized by the metaphor of the Sputnik satellites orbiting at a distance from the earth quietly.

I sometimes wonder, when I see a group of trees or a crowd of people, how they feel or what they think and on what purpose they live, and whether or not they are trying to support each other or trying to live alone.

Anyway, I am glad that the person who bought this piece said he also liked Murakami's books.

Art Show Week

I have 2 art shows this week.

It's been a while since I had my last show.

I guess I was too busy with all the wedding stuff, including my own.

Both of them are to help developing countries.

I wish I could say please stop by if you are nearby, but the Room To Read event is very expensive. (Though I get to see Ziggy Marley!!)

ただいま現実逃避中。

31st!

またひとつ大人になりました。今年はケーキ食べつくしで、満腹です。

フットワークをつけたいと願って始まった２０１０年。

４ヶ月後にして、ようやく少しずつ動き始める予感。

忙しくなってきた。

ラッシュの仕事がやってくる。

その直前に微妙な空き時間があったので絵を描いて待つ。

うまい寿司が食べたい。

最近、久々に寿司欲求が高まってる。

今週末仕事があるかもしれん。

まいったなぁ。

あいだ

前回のポストからすこし間があいてしまった。

理由は主に２つ。

１つはフリーランスの仕事をやったりしてて単純に時間がない。

もうひとつは、最近どうも気に入る絵が描けてない。といっても、普段からそんな大したものが描けてるわけじゃないし、この絵がそんなに特別いいというわけでも全然ないんだけれど。

ただ、普段以上にどうも最近スケッチが不調気味。理由はよくわかないけど。

とにもかくにも、最近は友達のiPhone Appを手伝っています。ゲームのキャラデザインとかそういうの。普段の仕事とちがってこれはなかなか面白い。
