Lately the cycle of the same model coming back is getting shorter and shorter. I'd rather want to have different variations.

This Thanksgiving weekend has been very warm nice weather. I gotta go outside!

I didn't have too many good drawings today. The proportion of this drawing is a bit off, but I mainly focused on the graphic shapes of the composition today, which I always find it so hard to do and admire when I see it in drawings, especially in a subtle way.

Bishop

I went to Bishop last weekend. The air was cold and sharp but clear and sunny. A perfect weekend for climbing. Of course, I wasn't in good shape for climbing but had such a great time. I must go back.

Nothing much to say, but I had a pretty good session today.

育ち続けるハナキリン

今年の春に植え替えて切り戻した花キリンの成長が実に著しい。前回の写真をみてびっくり。花の数は相変わらず少ないのだけど葉がとにかくもっさり。植え替えてから半年足らずでこの勢いで、なんだか侵略されているようで少しだけ怖くもあるのだけれど、元気な様をみるのはやはり嬉しい。

来年の春が来たら、また植え替えて今度は暖簾分け（挿し木）を成功させたい。
土いじりが好きなのだなーと最近改めてよく思う。

Today, we had the holding-a-laugher guy whom we had a couple of months ago. He was still holding a laughter. He may just be a happy guy.
It was a little strange day, just like the weather we had in LA today (misty rain and a little bit of sun and lots of cloud. strange for LA). I was a bit tired already before the class and wasn't focused, so I was drawing everything in a somewhat relaxed manner. As a result, my drawings were inconsistent just like the model was, but I liked how some of them came out.

I didn't like any of my drawings today, but I have to post something for my record. I've had this model so many times, every time I have hard time. She's a really good model, but I can't draw her. Personally, I like more meaty women I guess.

Today's model was asian, Korean I thought. In my opinion, it's kind of rare to see asian models, especially for guys. I wonder if it's something to do with the culture.

I keep putting off writing about other things. I'm newly realizing how hard it is not to get dominated by everyday routines and how easy it is to forget the sense of being present appreciatively.

Figure drawing again. I liked today's model. But, I wasn't focused enough to do her face. So no face. She had a pretty face, though. She said she was a mind coach, whatever that is. She said she helps people balance their mind. Strange coincidence that she appears when I'm struggling with my mind, but I'm not looking for a "coach," I don't think... My drawing was okay for the most part. I like some of the lines and forms that came across. All the drawings here are between 10-15 min poses.

Back to Figure, Figure Drawing #37

I'm back.
There have been a lot of things (a little too many things) to talk about since the meditation (including the meditation), but I'm still in the middle of processing all the events and thoughts that went through my mind and body.
I may not post everything, but will post some things here and there when I have time.

In the meantime, I went back to the figure drawing session. So, here it is. It's been a while since the last one I attended, but it was fun.
