Figure Drawing #34
There was something strange about this model. He seemed like he was holding a laughter for the entire time. What was so funny? no idea. He had socks on. That was kinda funny.
My drawing experience was mediocre over all.

Five Spot After Dark
Here is my latest work. This piece was created for this artshow. My song choice was "Five Spot After Dark" by Curtis Fuller. I think I first heard this song from TV show or commercial that was aired in Japan a long time ago when I still lived there. And I started listening to Jazz almost 10 years ago, and rediscovered this song again and loved it partly because it gave me a feeling of nostalgia. And then I came across this song again a few years ago when I was reading Haruki Murakami's novel "After Dark." So, I think I'm haunted by this song.
Figure Drawing #32
This is the same model as this one. I like how some of the drawings came out this time. I said this last time, too, but he's such a good model that I was smoothly pulled into a sweet drawing zone.
I was surprised that he had two sons, one of which was already 18 years old.
It's been one year since the devastating disaster yesterday. Time flies. My thoughts for people, who experience the disaster, who unfortunately are not on this earth any more, and who are still fighting.

Figure Painting
I took one of my figure drawings from a few weeks ago and put some digital coloring to study colors. I got caught up in the abstract background, and I'm kinda liking how it came out. I think it's effectively hiding the weakness of the coloring of the figure
Shin Kawasaki
This is a portrait of the musician who played the tune choices of the artworks at the opening of the group show last night. He was great.

Figure Drawing #31
Somehow I was mostly attracted by her hands, so I did some study of hands. I also did some value study and portrait, and actually I thought I got her likeness pretty good in one portrait.
Tonight (Saturday night) isYu artshow at PS Zask Gallery in Palos Verdes, and tomorrow (Sunday) night will be mine at Balconi Cafe in West LA

What:
SONG X is a group show of artists' interpretations of a piece of music that sticks in
one's mind so that one seems to hear it, even when it is not being played. This condition
is also known as musical imagery repetition and involuntary musical imagery.
Reinterpretated as single cut EPs, artists were asked to create their custom 7 x 7 inch
artworks based on their song choice.
